We Are BHN

Better Health Network (BHN) has been formed by the voluntary amalgamation of Central Bayside Community Health Services, Connect Health & Community and Star Health.

In April 2022, the Members of the three organisations voted in favour of a voluntary amalgamation to form BHN.

Since this time, much work has been done to establish BHN as a single brand entity and integrate the business and client services functions across the organisation.

Better Health Network is now one of the largest community health services in Victoria, serving more than 600,000 people across 20+ sites in Melbourne’s inner south and south-eastern suburbs.

As a larger entity, we can provide a more coordinated network of health, wellbeing and support services in our region – reducing duplication and improving client access.

We also have a stronger collective voice to advocate for our communities and pursue greater funding, investment, and evidenced-based policy outcomes at a state and federal level.

Experience and compassion are at the core of our holistic approach to healthcare. We celebrate our history, community and diversity, while working to be at the forefront of best practice to support our clients’ needs.

The guiding principles of the amalgamation are to be better for clients, the community, staff, and volunteers. We proudly retain this focus as we continue our integration and transformation journey.

While there is still much work to be done in this space, there is also much to celebrate in our achievements and commitment to improving health and wellbeing for our community over the past financial year.

Our Dental team help our community smile

During the 2022-23 financial year, Better Health Network delivered close to 320,000 occasions of service to clients across the Inner South and South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. This included around 36,000 dental appointments for children and adults to help improve oral health.
