Mr Damian Ferrie

    Damian has been an accomplished and respected leader in government and non-government sectors especially in the areas of health and housing.  As the CEO of Star Health for over a decade, he led its transformation to become a highly regarded and successful organisation.


    As an Executive Director within the Victorian Government, he has initiated numerous state-wide interventions to build community capacity through partnerships with the community, business, and the philanthropic sectors.  Damian’s career has been driven by social justice, fairness and equity.


    Damian’s leadership and governance expertise is sought after and he has supported the numerous boards including as the current Chair of VCOSS and Mental Health Victoria.


    Damian has studied leadership at the University of Cambridge, holds a Masters of Applied Science – Social Ecology (Organisational Development), a Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution and a Bachelor of Theology.

Ms Janice Munt

    Prior to assuming the role of BHN Chairperson in June 2022, Janice was the Board Chair of Central Bayside Community Health Services from November 2018, bringing an extensive background in community, health, education and government.


    A Senior Advisor to Office of the Minister for Women and Prevention of Family Violence (2014-16), as a former Member of Parliament (State) Mordialloc Electorate 2002-2010, and as Parliamentary Secretary for Health 2009-2010, Janice’s mission is to lead with vision, values and purpose; to help people and make their lives better. 

    Janice has an extensive history of volunteer work with the homeless, schools, kindergartens, environment groups, health and women’s organisations.

Ms Anne Garrow

    Early in her career Anne worked as a Family Therapist and Counsellor, and later gained extensive experience working in the community sector including managing community service organisations. She has also lived in remote areas of Australia and her work has included health research, evaluation and community work in Aboriginal health services in remote, regional and urban Australia.

    Anne has over 10 years of experience as a community health service Board Director. She is also a Board Director of UnitingVicTas.

    Board Director and healthcare consultant. Previous senior executive roles include Interim CEO – eFocus and IPC Community Health; Executive Officer ANZCP; Transitional CEO at the Eastern Melbourne PHN; Inaugural Victorian State Manager at AHPRA; CEO of Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria and General Manager of the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. 


    Currently Board Director of Sandringham Ambulatory Care Centre and Chair of De La Salle College, School Advisory Committee. Appointed in August 2020 as an independent member of the Quality, Compliance & Risk Committee, a subcommittee of the Villa Maria Catholic Homes Ltd Board. 

    Previously a member of the Victorian Pharmacy Authority Board.

Leader of high performing IT teams and skilled in the development and implementation of IT strategies and systems to support organisational plans that exceed business performance targets.

    Experienced in leading challenging IT operations and support functions in multi-national corporations and complex environments including extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions resulting in the need to integrate operations, standardise core platforms and rationalise team reporting structures.

Ms Kirstan Corben

    Well known for her work in sport and physical activity, mental health and wellbeing, healthy eating, alcohol and tobacco control and health equity.  

    Led transformational change to genuinely embed prevention within the Alfred Health and Victorian health systems.  Founded her career in the community health sector with leadership, health promotion and clinical roles. 

    Makes voluntary contributions to a number of organisations in the mental health and community sport areas. Many professional and personal connections with the communities of the inner southern region of Melbourne.

Mr Stuart Webb

    An experienced administrative lawyer with expertise in corporate governance, audit and risk, Stuart has been appointed to various Tribunals, including the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Mental Health Tribunal and currently is a full time Member of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). 

    Significant experience on not-for-profit Boards includes being on the Boards of Amnesty International Australia, Justice Connect and for 15 years elected onto the Board of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV), the professional association for lawyers in Victoria. In 2019 he was President of the LIV. 

    He has also appointed as a Director of the Law Council of Australia. Prior to the amalgamation creating BHN Stuart was a director of Connect Health and Community.

    Kate has been on CBCHS Board for four years. Kate is an experienced financier with a background in institutional banking and finance. 


    More recently Kate has worked in leadership roles in NFP and tertiary sector in philanthropy and industry engagement roles.

Ms Samantha Kolasa

    Extensive experience in the community services and Government sectors delivering services to families and children across the entire life span. Career began as a psychologist, and over the last 10 years has continued to support local communities in executive management roles. 


    Currently employed as the CEO of the Glen Education – an Early Years Management organisation responsible for the management of 17 community kindergartens. Currently a Director at the Early Learning Association of Australia (ELAA).
